Booking It The Hotels.com Way
Everyone can now have an expensive hotel room or suite with an affordable price to go along with it. At www.hotels.com travel go'ers can now reserve rooms, pay for their nights, and get huge discounts off of their hotel rooms all from the comfort of their computer desk.
Recently our family embarked on an adventure to Branson Missouri, where we used Hotels.com to reserve and pay for our discounted room. Our total at the checkout came to one-hundred and twenty-four dollars for two nights. The hotel room included a pool, cable, and two queen sized beds, as do most. Hotels.com was an easy tool that saved us time and money when looking for a hotel. Using the website we were able to type in the city and state along with our specifications such as number and size of the beds, number of people staying in the room, and luxaries such as a pool, cable, coffee maker, hi-speed internet, etc. Immediatly atleast a dozen of search results showed up giving us detailed pictures of the rooms and their pool and main lobby area, as well as the eating area. The room that we stayed in was nice and comfortable, although it was average. On Hotels.com they have things like customer reveiws and quality ratings. When we were looking to book our hotel room, the customer reviews were the most important thing that we considered when booking, but be warned they can be very misleading. On the website, the customer review and quality ratings were five out of five, so we thought that our room would be in stellar shape. When we arrived at our hotel, we noticed several things that were frustrating, but not a huge deal. The first thing that we noticed was that our television was some what broken because one of the speakers was very tinny sounding. The second thing was that our shower drain was clogged, and as we took our showers the water would build up about four inches by the time we finished. Besides those two inconveniences with our hotel room, we were glad to get it for the price that we did. As a side note, the continental breakfast described on hotels.com was actually better at the hotel. When we arrived home after our weekend trip, I discovered that the customer review and the quality ratings were based on just one person, and that they obviously didn't stay in our same room. Now that I have personally gone through the Hotels.com booking experience, I have a few pointers to give to you. First, always make sure that you choose specifications that are very narrowed so that you get exactly what you want. If you dont, you are not going to be happy with your room when you get there. Second, always look at the detailed pictures, because what you see is what you are going to get. Third, check the customer review and quality ratings, and be sure they are based on multiple people. If the customer review and quality ratings are below a four and are based on atleast ten people, I personally wouldn't book the room. Fourth, check the smoke preference of the room, as some hotels allow smoking while others dont. Choose the one that fits your lifestyle. Fifth, be sure that the check out time for your room isn't before noon because no one wants a rushed leave from your vacation. Last but not least, check out things before you buy, like does the hotel have a pool, does the room have a mini fridge, or does the room have coffee maker and television? Also, another tip, is keep in mind the kind of other people that are going to be staying at the same hotel, and check to see if the hotel has quiet hours. Hotels.com may be a little misleading, but they make up for it in some of there other features. Besides there specification tools, they also will give you directions to your hotel form your current location and show you direct routes. When we were on Hotels.com and found the hotel we were going to stay at, booking and pay for it were a snap. All we did was register with Hotels.com use our credit card (the website is credit card safe and secure) to purchase the room. Afterwards they sent an email to our specified email address with our confirmation number and details of our room. When we arrived in Branson Missouri at our hotel, we just gave the hotel front desk our first and last name along with our confirmation number and they gave us the keys to our room with no questions asked. Even though were a few things wrong with our room, it was a convienient, easy, hassle free vacation that saved us money to be used on other things during our stay. Next time that you and your family get ready to go on a vacation, remember my tips to a successful booking on Hotels.com
